Beyoncé’s Helmets — Renaissance World Tour
These helmets were used for promotional imagery on the Renaissance World Tour. The designs were created by artists at Parkwood Entertainment and our team 3D modeled the final version. The helmets were made through SLA printing and electroplating for the chrome effect. The visor was created using a custom mold and vacuum formed acrylic. A gold version of the helmet was also made and later used on the marketing for the Cowboy Carter tour. Most of the images seen here can be found in the tour book that was sold through merchandise at the concerts.
Wheel of Doom — Ryan Trahan
Our team created the fully functional Wheel of Doom prop for Ryan Trahan’s 50 States series. The custom electronics of LEDs, speakers and animations were run off a microcontroller on a rechargeable battery. Our priority was to create a prop that looked clean and manicured on camera while also being rugged and durable for constant use. The back of the box also featured a magnetic “State Checklist” where pieces could be added to show the series progress. Ryan wanted a realistic grounded aesthetic for the box that blended high end tech with homemade carpentry.
Trahan Trophies — 50 States Series
The Number One Home in America trophies for Ryan Trahan’s 50 States series were made entirely out of wood. Ryan wanted a realistic grounded aesthetic for the trophies that looked homemade yet high end. Each trophy contains a mix of walnut, birch, cherry, and oak to provide clean color separation. Once each part was milled and assembled, the entire trophy was coated in polyurethane for longevity.
Containment Unit — Practical Prop
Our functional containment unit prop was built initially for in-house use as a trade show display. We set out to build a sci-fi console for camera with a retro-future aesthetic and interactive working elements for talent. The prop was first used on screen in a Doritos ad for Crash the Super Bowl. In addition to working lights and switches, the unit used a standing desk mechanism that would lift a container at a designated speed and height. The interior cabinet housed the electronics as well as a fog machine for an added effect. Most of the facing switch boards were re-housed electronic surplus from 20th century radios, copiers, and maintenance panels.
Foam Pretzel Crust Pizza — Little Caesars Spot
We created STUNT pretzel crust pizza for a Little Cesars branded content series. We also created pretzel balance beam by wrapping square truss in mattress foam followed by vinyl upholstery and EVA salt. The foam pizzas were created by casting a real pizza in a fiberglass mold. We then backfilled the mold with expanding foam. Each piece was painted with a variety of washes and airbrush detailing to enhance the reality.
