In another collaboration with VTPro Design, we created the scenic bodies for several “AI Robots” with the Golden State Warriors! The robotics, design and engineering was lead by VTPro and MacGuffin handled the 3D fabrication and scenic finish.

The mechanical structures of the bots were each made using an aluminum sub frame and the plastic exterior was modeled to fit the chassis. Various types of 3D printing processes were used including FDM, SLA and SLS to produce various parts. The smaller parts were seamed together and reinforced with fiberglass on the hidden side. We even utilized clear 3D resin and a clear-coat gradient for the LED “eye” lenses.

An automotive paint finish was applied to separate panels and textured to reflect different surfaces. A final matte clear coat was applied to seal in the pristine, factory-fresh finish.
